How to call internationally - international dialing codes

The International way of dialing works like this:
(The number below is for the British Museum in London, UK)

Country Code: +44 = England
Local Code:     (0) = Do not dial this unless you are in England!
City Code:       20 = London
Local Number:  7323 8000

For most countries, you would not dial the (0) - except for Russia and Italy.

You will need to know the "Country Code" for the country you would like to call. Then you need the city code and the local number. Usually, the person you are calling will have given you the number in a format similar to the one illustrated above. You can use the tool below to find out how to dial from the country you are in.
